Hpcsim - Hardware Configuration


Hpcsim is the first 64-bits Linux cluster of HPCCC.The cluster consists of 1 master node (Dual Intel Xeon 3.2GHz processors with 4GB RAM), and 16 computational nodes (Dual Intel Xeon 3.2GHz with 2GB RAM), all linked by an Gigabit ethernet switch.

  1. Master Nodes - 1 master nodes. Each consists of:
    • Model : Dell PowerEdge 1850 server
    • CPU : Intel Xeon 3.2GHz Processors x 2
    • Memory : 4GB DDR 400MHz
    • Hard Disk : 2.5" 36GB SCSI HDD
  2. Compute Nodes - 16 compute nodes. Each consists of:
    • Model : Dell PowerEdge SC 1425 server
    • CPU : Intel Xeon 3.2GHz Processors x 2
    • Memory : 2GB DDR 400MHz
    • Hard Disk : 2.5" 36GB SCSI HDD
  3. Network
    • TCP/IP : Dell PowerConnect 2724 (Gigabit ethernet switch)
  4. Battery Backup
    • APC Smart-UPS 3000 x 2
  5. Disk Storage Enclosure
    • Model : Dell PowerVault 220S
    • Hard Disk : 73GB SCSI HDD x 10
