| The Faculty of Science, since its first year of teaching in 1961, has grown and evolved in response to the positive demands from society and in support of its student population. The Faculty continues to lead in the provision of science education, with its graduates taking up careers in a diversity of professional settings. |

| 1970 |
Department of Mathematics & Physics was separated into Department of Mathematics and Department of Physics |
| 1971 |
- Academic restructuring and the Faculty finally consisted of five departments, namely Biology, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Mathematics and Physics
- The Faculty was renamed as Faculty of Natural Science and Engineering

| 1976 |
Institute of Engineering of the United Kingdom granted our civil engineering graduates exemption for Part I of the professional assessment |
